2022 SUBMISSION OPEN CALL
WRITE VOLUMES is currently
accepting quality submissions for its next anthologies that will be published
in 2022. Seeking fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction generally between 500-6000
words.
Our "Shades Of" Anthologies tend to take place from an American
identity perspective. How you view American identity is up to you. You can tell
a story from your heritage, or some tale that happened to you in
America based on your gender, ethnicity, something unique to you and how that
conflicts, bridges, or harmonizes with American identity.
Please provide a 2-3 sentence synopsis at
the beginning of your piece and in your email.
No simultaneous submissions unless you
retain the copyright.

too much sugar and they are jumping off the walls or maybe the world is ending and you have to fight for survival. Maybe you quit your job or want to quit.
Maybe a spouse left or is having a baby. Maybe aliens are uncovered, or a new
metal discovered, cars can run on water, let your imagination run wild. We want
to explore the moments, lessons learned or not learned, adaptations or
extinctions. Stories can range from humorous, serious, nonfiction, fiction,
small revelations, insight to the human condition, romance, inspirational, eye
opening or sublime

o
While Covid has been life altering and often devastating,
we are seeking stories about any POSITIVE changes the lockdown / Covid may have
had for you or the characters you create. Did you get to spend more time with
your family, quarantine with a loved one or without one, avoid coworkers,
xenophobe, fear of people but now it’s a new normal with many people doing many
things online including school, germaphobe, always wanted to learn more
programs on the computer, parents finally learn to video chat, new appreciation
for medical community, save money since no/ little travel, needed a break from
dating to focus on self, new definitions of hero, upgraded your wifi,
technology upgrades, clear out your Netflix list, catch up on book
backlog? This pandemic may have been filled with unprecedented horror
which can be mentioned in the work, but we are trying to focus on any silver
linings. Stories can range from humorous, serious, nonfiction, fiction, small
revelations, insight to the human condition, romance, inspirational, eye
opening or sublime.
